Ad Zone Placements

Last Updated on December 11, 2015

Still having problems with your Ad Zone placements? This section of the guide will highlight the most common problems our publishers face when it comes to zones acting in an unexpected fashion. Make sure the ad code is installed properly, then check out this content for more information on what may be happening on your website.

The ads are overlapping another element in my website / sidebar. How do I fix this?

In most cases, this is caused by the float property of those ads not being cleared.  This is usually resolved by adding a clearing div just beneath the STEP 2 zone code like this:

This will prevent the browser from trying to float any other elements along with the ads in that zone which should prevent the overlapping of those elements.

Note: Our ads are set up with a ‘float:left’ attribute by default. This is what allows ads in a zone to float to create a horizontal line or to create two or more columns of ads. If the ads in your zone do not need to appear in a horizontal line or in several columns, you can check the “Vertical” checkbox in the “Style Settings” on the ad code page in your account. This will remove the ‘float:left‘ property so your ads will not float. This is usually best for zones that are at the size of 300×250 or 728×90 (or similar) since those ads are rarely needed to float in columns.
